About

Electra Pole Art Productions (“Electra Productions”) was founded in 2018 by Jane Bull and Linley Faulkner. We are based primarily in Victoria, British Columbia.

We see pole dance as a unique, innovative, and rapidly evolving performance art with a high potential for supporting female empowerment and inspiring community dialogue. However, pole dance has relatively limited exposure in the dance arts community, and there are currently few platforms to watch or perform professionally other than at competitions.

Electra Productions was born from a desire to provide non-competitive performance opportunities for Vancouver Island pole artists, and produce high quality pole shows for local audiences. To supplement this goal, we saw the need for further accessible training opportunities on the Island.

As the pole dance industry continues to grow internationally, Electra Productions is committed to supporting industry growth locally by presenting quality pole art shows, and hosting workshops with celebrated professional pole dancers from around the world, right here on Vancouver Island.

Mission Statement

Deliver high quality productions for local audiences that celebrate the artistry, diversity, and innovation of pole dance;

Provide opportunities for pole dancers on Vancouver Island and surrounding regional areas to train and showcase their work in a professional environment; and

Engage in meaningful community dialogue about the ongoing development of pole as an emerging dance form and performance art.

Jane Bull

Jane grew up in Shawnigan Lake where she took her first ballet class, and currently brings 27+ years of professional dance and performance experience to Electra Productions. After moving to the mainland in 2011, Jane joined the Vancouver International Dance Festival Board of Directors, and completed her instructor certification through the Canadian Pole Fitness Association. In 2016 Jane competed in the Canadian Pole Fitness Championships, where she placed first in the BC Pole Art category and went on to compete at nationals in Toronto. Jane recently performed in the 2018 Pole Theatre Canada competition in Edmonton, where she won the Overall Semi-Professional Title in the Pole Art Category and a spot in Pole Theatre Worlds (UK, 2019). Jane travels frequently to train and judge with pole dancers around the world, and loves bringing new knowledge back home for her students on the island; in July 2018, she sat on the judging panel for the Pole Sport Organization competition in Zurich, Switzerland. She is thrilled to now additionally facilitate performance opportunities for local talent.

Linley Faulkner

While born on the West Coast, Linley grew up dancing throughout the southern United States. As a teen, she trained, competed, and performed in shows and dance competitions before starting her degree at the University of Victoria. Linley found pole dance and fitness through taking classes lead by Jane Bull. Inspired by the fusion of dance artistry, sensual movement, and core strength, she trains not only for exercise, but to make art with other feminist dancers. Linley is committed to supporting diversity and inclusion initiatives in Victoria and is a recipient of the 2017 Vancouver Island Top 20 under 40 Award. Through combining her skill sets both artistically and professionally, Linley is excited to help facilitate artistic dance and aerial performance and workshops for Vancouver Island.
